DRONE CLIENTS
The Phoenix high speed target was developed for the Australian Navy as a replacement for the Lear jet towed target. The Phoenix is a jet turbine powered delta wing with a top speed of Mach 0.9. The First batch was for 20 units locally manufactured. The moulds and and subsequent materials were sold to Air Affairs in Nowra.
China Power commissioned the development of the single rotor helicopter to carry three camera systems to monitor high voltage transmission infrastructure. The 4 rotor quadcopter was developed as a hovering platform to inspect powerline insulators. Thermal imaging and corona cameras were installed.
DSTO provided a user requirement for a high altitude piston engine powered aircraft. The aircraft was developed under contract for a purpose that was not disclosed. A payload was specified carrying 20 Kg. The aircraft requires the payload to be of that weight for trim. DSTO purchased the CyberEye and Cybird 5. This is the high test platform for a missile homing head.
Several aircraft types were developed for the Australian Special Forces. The CyberEye has been used for surveillance. The CyberEye provided intelligence to special forces troops prior to entering built up areas. Flying at a height where it was not visible or detected.
A quad rotor drone was developed to deliver a claymore mine vertically. This had the effect of a delivering a splintered artillery shell being delivered from above. This drone was used by special forces to provide covering fire from above as they engaged enemy forces in built up areas.
Royal Thai Air Force
The Royal Thai Airforce purchased the CyberEye 2 aircraft. The CyberEye 2 is used to provide surveillance in a meshed environment where large areas are being monitored simultaneously. The CyberEye 2 are flown in formation to provide a wide lens over a large area to provide a wide area view of the area under surveillance.
The CyberEye 2 is also used to undertake perimeter monitoring of Airforce bases where it can fly below the approach height of incoming aircraft and maintain a safe distance.
West Australia Police purchased numerous CyberEye 2. They are deployed in many rural areas to provide police with the capability to undertake area surveillance where there are few police covering large rural areas.
The West Australia Police purchased numerous tethered quad copters. These quad copters are tethered to a support vehicle providing power and data via the tether. This quad copter is fitted with various cameras and is used to provide continuous surveillance in built areas and crowd management.
